Darshan Jariwala on his resignation as vice president: I did not want CINTAA to be dragged and harassed in my personal case

Veteran actor Darshan Jariwala has resigned from his position as vice-president of the Film and Television Artistes Association (CINTAA) amid allegations leveled against him by a woman. The allegations involve claims of marriage, pregnancy and abandonment, prompting Jariwala to address the issue publicly. Speaking exclusively to HT City, Jariwala says, “I am fighting a legal case, I have filed a defamation suit. CINTAA had nothing to do with my personal case, but since they were also being named and harassed unnecessarily, I myself decided to resign from my position and fight my case alone. “I would not like them to be labeled unnecessarily, just as I am unnecessarily defamed without any basis.”

Denying the allegations, he emphasizes, “Some false complaints have been filed against me jiske baare mai mujhe kisi ne kuch pelota bhi nahi hai. The accusations on the Internet are garbage, so I will proceed legally. Let the truth come out. This has been going on for about 1 or 2 months. The attacks are increasingly virulent, without listening to my side. “I have not reacted on social media and have taken legal action because that is the right way to do it.”

Expressing concern over CINTAA’s involvement in the matter, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahaani (2009) states, “CINTAA even gave me a clean chit in December in an Instagram post and mentioned several times that this is a personal matter.” . They could file a defamation suit themselves if this is overlooked. So, I don’t like that the lady drags them and tarnishes her image.”

Refusing to succumb to the trials of social media, the 65-year-old says: “Negativity doesn’t affect me because I know the truth about myself. “I will not join the kangaroo courts being conducted on social media.”

Looking ahead, Jariwala expresses his desire to continue contributing to the well-being of CINTAA once the current matter is resolved, stating: “Every 3 years a new committee comes. “Once I resolve the matter at hand, I will definitely want to work for the welfare of the association.”
