Here’s the good, the bad and the ugly of what X users have said about Madame Web:
#MadameWeb is the movie I’ve been waiting for all my life. I laughed, cried and cheered like hell. It was perfect? Maybe not. But this latest adventure from SJ Clarkson shows that there’s still some life in the movies. “Marvel is saving cinema,” wrote one user.
“#MadameWeb is an incredibly written and fantastic film packed with some of the best editing and performances. Even it has solid cinematography and an interesting concept, the way they executed their network connecting them all is brilliant,” added another.
“#MadameWeb I am currently crying a lot. This is truly the most beautiful and best written story ever created. I can’t believe how magical it was. It really made me shed a tear. And especially that part was so touching that words cannot describe,” posted a third.
#MadameWeb is totally fine. There’s really not much to say here. The protagonists are charming. Dakota Johnson is a weird witch. The slasher/FINAL DESTINATION meets superhero vibes are there. But there’s just not much to say. It’s not a disaster. Just there,” wrote one user on X.
The ugly one
However, there was one user in particular who was not very kind to the movie. They wrote: “#MadameWeb is a disgraceful mess. Talented stars wasted in probably the worst comic book movie I’ve ever seen. Full of atrocious dialogue, awkward editing, and laughable structure. I sat there, baffled, scene after scene, someone approved of this. The memes will redeem it.”
About Madame Web
According to a statement, Madame Web tells the independent story of the origin of one of the most enigmatic heroines of the Marvel publishing house. The suspense thriller stars Dakota Johnson as Cassandra Webb, a Manhattan paramedic who develops the power to see the future and realizes that she can use that vision to change it. Forced to confront revelations about her past, she forges a relationship with three young women destined for powerful destinies, if they can all survive a deadly present.
While talking about her character in the film, Dakota said in a statement: “When you meet Madame Web in this movie, it’s her origin story. It’s how Cassie became Madame Web. So we start when she’s a young woman. In the end, in the comics, “She ends up being an old woman who develops a neurodegenerative disease. But since we started a long time ago, she is a paramedic; She’s kind of an everyday hero, she’s an independent, complex woman.”
Directed by SJ Clarkson, Madame Web stars Dakota Johnson, Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim, Mike Epps, Emma Roberts and Adam Scott.
Madame Web will hit theaters on February 16 in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
