Libertine Ready-to-wear Fall 2024: Logo-free luxury peacock at its finest

In the field of “more is more” fashion, Libertine’s Johnson Hartig stands out.

Its fall 2024 collection was a logoless luxe strut at its finest, tapping into the current love for all things surreal with floating prints of eyes, ears, lips, airplanes, jewels and galaxy flowers on outerwear and trench coats.

Hartig showed off her talent for craftsmanship with colorful decorated buttons that looked like pieces of porcelain on a plaid jacket and stunner-sized crystals on the front of a plaid coat. And he played on his punk past, with plaid patches, newsprint and snippets of poetry written on men’s tailoring.

This season’s versions of her collectible evening coats sparkled with hand-placed crystals in blooming floral designs or rainbow stripes.

Hartig also created photorealistic prints of the view of the Los Angeles landing at LAX at night, paying homage to her dazzling hometown, which has informed her style of flashy glamour. This season, that even came down to fun feathered shoes and collage sunglasses (she really should have a glasses license).

For those who want a piece of Libertine’s maximalist world without the luxury price tag, a new collaboration from LeSportsac showcased some of their pop art prints at a more affordable price. They are now on sale at Bergdorf Goodman.
