Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Abhishek Ghosalkar, son of former Uddhav Sena MP Vinod Ghosalkar, was shot dead during a Facebook Live on Thursday in Dahisar, Mumbai.
Abhishek was rushed to a nearby private hospital after a person he knew shot three bullets at him during a dispute. He, however, succumbed to his injuries.
The person who shot Abhishek, identified as Morris Noronho, also died after he shot himself later. The incident occurred when the victim and the accused were live on Facebook. When the session concluded, Morris opened fire on Abhishek.
“Abhishek and Morris had a dispute in the past, but their dispute was resolved recently. Morris had called Abhishek at a sari distribution event at his office and during the event, he took him inside his cabin and shot him. He fired three shots with his revolver. Later he shot himself too,” Potnis said.
Police and local police are investigating the matter.
Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA and former minister Aaditya Thackeray said, “There is a government of goons in the state. There is no law and order in the state. First the shooting took place in Kalyan and now it is taking place in Mumbai.”
Meanwhile, Sena (UBT) spokesperson Anand Dubey said, “Now, no citizen is safe in Maharashtra. There is a jungle raj atmosphere in the state. Shooting is going on in broad daylight in the city, there should be an immediate investigation into who are the goons who shot our former corporator Abhishek Ghosalkar. “This government has failed.”
