Abhishek Ghosalkar, a former Shiv Sena corporator and son of a former MLA, was shot during a personal dispute in Mumbai’s Dahisar area on Thursday. Abhishek was rushed to Borivali’s Karuna hospital in serious condition, where he died. The incident took place days after a BJP MLA was caught on camera shooting at a faction leader Eknath Shinde inside a police station in Ulhasnagar, raising questions over the law and order situation in Maharashtra. .
Uddhav Sena leader Sanjay Raut demanded the resignation of Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis over the firing incident in Mumbai.
Abhishek was the son of Vinod Goshalkar, a veteran of Uddhav’s party. He was chairman of the Mumbai Building Reconstruction and Repair Board. Abhishek’s wife also served as a company.

The attack reportedly took place at the office of one Mauris Noronha, popularly known as Mauris Bhai with whom Abhishek had some personal enmity. However, they recently reconciled and Abhishek was reportedly invited to Mauris Noronha’s office for an event. According to the ANI report, Mauris bhai allegedly shot Ghosalkar before shooting himself and the entire incident was live-streamed on Facebook.
Uddhav Sena spokesperson Anand Dubey said no one is safe in Eknath Shinde-Devendra Fadnavis’s Maharashtra. “If a public representative is not safe, what will be the condition of the public? Is the government creating an atmosphere of fear? Sanjay Raut says the government is feeding muscular men. Today we have seen the proof of this. Our ex- corporator is fighting for life. And the government talks about Ram-rajya,” Dubey said.
