NASA’s PACE mission to unravel the mysteries of climate change will be rescheduled for launch after climate obstacles

NASA and SpaceX have rescheduled the launch of the Plankton, Aerosol, Cloud, Ocean Ecosystem (PACE) mission for February 8 at 1:33 am EST (12.03 pm IST) from the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida, aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. .

The launches scheduled for February 6 and 7 were delayed due to unfavorable weather conditions.

The mission, which explores the complex connections between the oceans and the atmosphere amid climate change, also seeks to reveal the impact of microscopic life in both water and air.

According to NASA, understanding these particles and clouds in the air is critical to deciphering changes in climate and air quality. Data obtained from NASA’s PACE Earth observation science mission will improve understanding of the exchange of carbon dioxide between the ocean and the atmosphere, measure key atmospheric variables related to Earth’s air quality and climate, and monitor the health of the oceans by studying microscopic marine organisms called phytoplankton.
