Former Indian cricket team captain MS Dhoni is a big fan of Kathiyawadi cuisine and his favorite food is Khichdi-Kadhi, according to a report by Aaj Tak. The manager of Rajkot’s Sayaji Hotel said that many Indian cricketers enjoy cooking and even named some favorite dishes when it comes to well-known cricketers. Apart from Dhoni, the hotel manager revealed that KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya are also fans of Khichdi-Kadhi. This is the same hotel where the Indian team will stay ahead of their third Test in the ongoing five-match series against England starting on Thursday.
The hotel has already prepared special meals in Gujarati and Kathiyawadi for the players of the Indian cricket team. Cricketers will be served Fafda-Jalebi, Khakhra, Gathiya, Thepla, Khman for breakfast and special Kathiyawadi food like Dahi Tikari, Vagherela Rotlo (Fried Bajra Roti with Yogurt and Garlic) and Khichdi Kadhi for dinner.
The number 7 jersey on the cricket field has a special meaning for Indian fans. It is a number worn by the legendary captain MS Dhoni on the ground.
Whether representing India or his franchise Chennai Super Kings, Dhoni was always seen with the number 7 on his back. Although he retired from international cricket for more than three years, Dhoni continues his love affair with the Indian Premier League (IPL) number.
In a recent event, the player revealed his connection with the number.
“Why was the 7th important to you? Was this the time your parents wanted you to come home?” the anchor asked MS Dhoni.
“No. That is the time or day my parents decided I would come to earth. I was born on July 7. So July again was the seventh month. 81 was the year, so 8-1 is 7. So it was very easy for me to come out when they ask me ‘what number do you want’,” Dhoni said at a promotional event.
