About the pillars of creation:
According POT, “These towering tendrils of cosmic dust and gas lie at the heart of M16, or the Eagle Nebula.” This iconic feature of the nebula is captured by NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope.
In the image, the blue color represents oxygen, the green shade represents nitrogen and hydrogen, and the red shade represents sulfur. “The pillars are bathed in the searing ultraviolet light of a cluster of young stars located just outside the frame. The winds from these stars are slowly eroding the towers of gas and dust,” NASA explained.
