OnePlus 12R uses UFS 3.1 storage in all versions

During the OnePlus 12 series launch event, OnePlus stated that the OnePlus 12R would use UFS 4.0 for the 256GB variant, which was also stated on its website. Following discussions on Reddit and X, OnePlus has officially clarified that the 128GB and 256GB versions of the OnePlus 12R feature UFS 3.1 storage. The company also apologized for the error and has since updated the website to reflect the use of UFS 3.1 instead of UFS 4.0.

Indian tablet market grew in Q4 2023, led by Apple

In the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2023, the Indian tablet market saw a substantial increase of 21 percent quarter-on-quarter (QoQ), according to analysis by CyberMedia Research (CMR). This growth was mainly driven by high demand for 5G tablets. However, despite this growth in the last quarter of 2023, the market saw a 14 percent year-over-year (YoY) decline in shipments. Apple maintained its dominance in the market, achieving a 25 percent share in the fourth quarter and throughout the year. Samsung maintained the second position with a 23 percent share during the year. Meanwhile, Lenovo showed a strong performance, capturing a 24 percent share in the fourth quarter of 2023.

Truecaller service similar to telephone directories, says Delhi HC, dismisses PIL

The Delhi High Court on Monday dismissed a petition against Swedish mobile app Truecaller, which offers users the identity of a caller from an unknown number, media reported. A division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Manmohan and Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora declared that services like providing names and emails of telephone numbers are a facility, drawing parallels with the historical practice of publishing telephone directories with names and phone numbers, says a report by News agency IANS.

Google One surpasses the milestone of 100 million subscribers

The CEO of Google and Alphabet. Sundar Pichai recently announced that the company has surpassed the milestone of having 100 million subscribers to the Google One service, which allows additional storage space for free services such as Gmail, Drive and Photos. The Google One Premium plan comes with 2TB of storage and several other useful features like VPN and dark web monitoring. Google’s new premium AI plan just announced gives users access to the newly launched Gemini and will soon offer generative AI features within Docs and Gmail.

In other words, one in two mobile users in India pick up their devices without knowing why they turned on their smartphone.
