iPhones are popular all over the world, but did you know that the five best-selling models on the market last year were iPhones? This month a new market report has appeared that talks about Apple’s dominance in the premium segment. The report also tells us that the iPhone 14 Pro Max was the best-selling model in 2023, which is not surprising considering the numbers Apple has reported in recent quarters.
The Pro Max model sold 34 million units during the period, which is an impressive figure for a device that costs over a lakh. It’s interesting that Apple has managed to sell the premium iPhone without major design changes and offering it with a Lightning connector.
The second iPhone on the list is the latest 15 Pro Max, which was launched only in September last year, but it has already clocked up 33 million units, which is huge for the new model and Apple is making money.
The next three top models were the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro, which clocked in at 29 million units each, which again is pretty big for the company considering these are also the new models.
And if you thought Apple was probably struggling to sell older iPhones, the company made $23 million in iPhone 13 sales, which is likely helped by demand for iPhones in markets like India and other emerging countries.
But what about the Android flagships from Google and Samsung? Where is the Galaxy S23 series on the charts? Surprisingly, the first non-Apple device on the list is the Samsung Galaxy A14 4G model, which is in sixth place with 21 million units sold in the last 12 months.
Samsung will be worried about its performance last year, although the Galaxy S23 Ultra got a decent response. That said, the AI-powered Galaxy S24 line could have better chances this year, which will become clearer later this year.
